We've been waiting for this for far too long, and hum-ho finally here comes the long anticipated 501st Vader's Fist Clone Trooper!!!

Lovin' the battle scarrings on the armor of this figure, even though its just a rehash/repaint of the standard trooper.

Expanding My Collection: Sideshow Premium Format

I have recently taken an interest in Sideshow Collectible's range of products, starting off from their 12' inch Star Wars products and after much consideration, i felt that the amount spent on getting 12' inch figures and the somewhat ''margin of diminished returns'' with each subsequent figure i got, made me choose to turn to something much more substantial and definitive. A figure which would stand the weathering and test of time and yet be the center of awe in a collector's shelf.

So i chanced upon this Premium Format figure of Yoda and a 501st Clone Trooper, depicting the intense battle where Clone Troopers actually get decapitated and stabbed outside the Jedi Temple on Coruscant in Episode III, revenge of the sith.

Ever since i saw clone troopers on the big screen, or Stormtroopers for the matter, i always wondered to myself why there never was a scene with Luke Skywalker facing these troopers in close combat? to flaunt the intensity and danger of getting on the wrong end of a lightsaber...or jedi dicing up the Clone troopers...

Basically Clone Troopers for all their skills, training and bravado, would be no match to a trained jedi with a lightsaber, and to see limbs and arms flying around just like say, Jedi Academy the video game, or Jedi Outcast, would be every Star Wars fanboy's Nerdgasmic dream. seriously, in my opinion, star wars has been too downplayed and ''clean'' so as to appeal to all ages, hence losing much of the potential it could have had, to do something way darker and gritter...say like the video games '' force unleashed...though THAT too doesn't have much graphic violence.

So here it is, in my opinion, the definitive moment of the ferocity of Yoda, captured in premium format. Demonstrating how the force is something not to be underestimated, and that this little, and often calm Jedi Master can indeed be a formidable opponent.

I am still considering my options and finances to get this figure. Would appreciate any comments and or opinions to a definitive Star Wars display ....


Priced at around $600 +/- it isn't something to take lightly, but then again, its almost the cost of 2 12' inch figures. and pretty worthwhile too considering its made of polystone and handpainted, with yoda featuring tailored costume, and an eventual light up lightsaber...












well guess that's my take on this, any opinions or suggestions for a better figure before i settle on this?

Sideshow Deluxe Clone: Clone Commander Cody Announced

Sideshow has announced at SDCC that they will be making a Clone commander Cody as a deluxe clone figure, which will include an Ep III & II helmet respectively.


now that's something all star wars collectors and diehards can't run from.


been holding back on spluring on previous announcements such as the stormtrooper, stormtrooper commander, utapau clone etc...but now this is on figure i'm definitely getting...

Sideshow 12' Inch Han & Luke in Stormtrooper Disguise SDCC exclusive

This indeed is the ultimate 12' inch figure for all star wars collectors out there...
Luke and Han in stormtrooper disguise from star wars episode IV. It is a SDCC exclusive hence i expect the prices to be pretty steep and the quality a tad better than usual stormtroopers on shelves now.

watching the podcast, the details on the figure which i didn't post in pictures are

- cloth neck seal ( not on standard stormtroopers )

- fabric inner suit

- detailed stormtrooper helmet interior, revealing fine details, padding, eye pieces and mouthpieces like a real stormtrooper helmet. however is not made to fit both han and luke's heads but to hold in their hands.

- Luke comes with grappling hook wound and unwound to pose in action

- detailed E-11 blasters ( similiar to standard stormtroopers )

- detailed headsculpts of mark hamil and harrison ford as both luke and han in EPISODE IV

this is indeed the ultimate figure for star wars collectors. and while i have been passing on lately on most sideshow's star wars line, because of my nitpicky attitude due to the small crotch guard, oversized chest plate, etc and have been leaning favourably towards medi's take on star wars because of its much more proportionate size, i must say that right now, SIDESHOW has indeed got my fullest attention with this SDCC exclusive pair.

and according to Armand, they're going to be available on 15th May via Simply Toys (emailed simply toys and they've yet to reply) . Hell, i'm sold and up for this bunch of figures. Anyone jumping on the bandwagon too???

Sideshow 12' inch Stormtrooper Commander: The Force Unleashed

Heads' up to all fellow collectors!

Just found out about this upcoming figure from Sideshow via forums.

It's a repaint of the stormtrooper released this year by sideshow, and this Stormtrooper Commander figure is based on The Force Unleashed video game.

pretty awesome figure to collect apart from the Utapau's 212th battalion trooper

Screen Inaccuracies: 212th Sideshow clone trooper

Take a good look at the comparison between Sideshow's Utapau Clone trooper, beside the On-screen look of a 501st trooper. (Both helmets, 212th battalion and 501st are supposedly similar)



However judging from the pictures, there is an obvious difference at the frown below the *teeth* of the utapua helmet. Furthermore the microphone tips are not accurate either. I have circled out the errors. and you can compare the below picture to the screen reference picture.



It obviously appears that the error was that the whole section below the *teeth* of the helmet was made too angular and trianglized ( downwards) instead of a smooth transisioned bump/hump.


It is pretty evident that in terms of screen accuracy, Sideshow continually fails to deliver, as opposed to medicom. However, i must say that price still somewhat determines much of consumer's choice.

Sideshow's Utapau 212th attack Battalion

Pictures. Looks fantastic IMO. though i must say the bodysuit around the shoulders look a tad' saggy. One thing worth mentioning is that i'm glad that they included the Blastech's DC-15A blaster rifle, along with the DC-15S its compact counterpart. Its really good that sideshow is making this extra blaster rifle as previous renditions of the clone trooper by medicom did not have a blaster rifle, which is the key weapon of all clone troopers. Now that there're both. DOUBLE THE SHIOKNESS.

I most definetely will be getting this trooper.

Star Wars 212th Attack Battalion: Utapau Clone Trooper

You can't ask for more...though i hope sideshow will improve the boot feet of its figures...

Past experience with their solid plastic boots is a pain, as these figures will be relatively harder to balance. All in all its good to know sideshow finally are making a better alternative to medicom's overpriced, money-burning, figures. Hopefully the armor wouldn't be too restrictive like its medicom counterparts.
